Wisconsin is known for two things, beer & cheese! Start your day with a great drive through the beautiful Kettle Moraine area of the state. Your destination is Foxtown Brewery, one of the oldest and most historic brewery buildings in Wisconsin.
Built in 1857 as the Opitz Zimmerman Brewery, the architecture takes you back to a simpler time. Exposed beams and stone walls welcome you to relax over a great meal. One of the highlights of your day will be a tour of the lager caves. This two-level cave structure, excavated beneath the main building, is one of the hidden gems of the area.
After an exceptional lunch and much telling of stories, some true and all embellished, we will depart for another great drive on the epic roads of southeast Wisconsin on our way back to Blue Harbor Resort. Just don’t forget to pick up a six-pack to go of your new favorite Foxtown beer. *Lunch and beverages are on your own* Check out: foxtownbrewing.com for more info.
Spend the morning on a scenic drive on some of the great driving roads of the area. Your destination is the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Located on the grounds of the famous AirVenture Fly-In that takes place every July.
The EAA Aviation Museum is one of the world’s finest aviation attractions. Check out the collection of more than 200 historic airplanes along with world class galleries and displays, including the Eagle Hangar that pays tribute to WWII aviation and the heroes that served.
The air racing display includes an outstanding collection of classic air racers including the 1938 Bugatti Model 100 Racer. Say the name Bugatti and race cars come to mind. Bugatti racers dominated the European racing scene in the 1920’s and 30’s, but the company also had an aviation connection.
Don’t miss the opportunity to tour this Wisconsin gem and experience the state’s beautiful scenery.
