1989 Special Austin-Healeys at Road America - Chicago Historic Races
The 1989 Chicago Historic Races saw two special Austin Healey’s in attendance. A Rally Car Replica and one of three Factory Sebring Healeys, #35 – 56FAC. These cars were driven and shown by Phil Coombs and restored by Tom Kovacs of Fourintune in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. This video includes interviews with both Phil and Tom and shows the details of each car. A ride around Road America in the Rally Car makes a thrilling ending.
1952 Elkhart Lake Road Races by Don Davis
Don Davis was an amateur road race enthusiast in the early 1950’s. He attended the 1952 Elkhart Lake Road Races and with a 16mm film movie camera recorded the race action. The Vintage Sportscar Club produced this video with Copyright in July 2018. In 2022 and 2023 Tom Moore, a friend of Don Davis, added captions and edits into an 18 minute Video. Permission to show this video was provided by Tom Moore November 2023.
Elkhart Lake Road Races and Road America 1952, 1955, & 1962
In the 1980’s one of my friends had 8mm films of early road racing at Elkhart Lake and Road America taken by his parents. He loaned me the films and I converted it to digital video in 1983. His parents were friends of one of the racers, Andy Rosenberg, and you will see actual footage of racing through the streets of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. You will see the Cunningham C4R’s driven by Cunningham and John Fitch in 1952, the last year of the street races. Road America Race Track opened in 1955, and you will see some of the inaugural races, with Briggs Cunningham. In 1962 you will see Augie Pabst winning the Road America 500 in the Ferrari at the end of the video.

2005 Australia Team Healey vs. United States Team Healey Challenge
In 2005, a group of Australian Austin-Healey and United States Austin-Healey racing enthusiasts created a once-in-a-lifetime race circuit with events at Road America, Summit Point, Virginia International Raceway, Watkins Glen, and Mid-Ohio. This video concentrates on the Road America Race Weekend May 13-15, 2005, produced by John Seaman in 2005, and brought back by popular demand.
